Expert Tuition:
Expert practitioners will provide tuition in a range of instruments over the
weekend. The following tutors have been confirmed:
Fiddle: Gerry O'Connor
Sheila Boyle
Tin whistle: Mary Bergin
and
Flute:
Tara Bingham
Banjo:
Sean McElwaine
Button Accordion: To be confirmed
Concertina: To be confirmed.
Tutors for button accordion are still to be confirmed.
Last year some 64 students registered for the event. Demand is
expected to be high once again, so the organisers are urging people to book
early to avoid disappointment, as places will be strictly limited.

Launch Night
The Friday evening will see the launch with guest speaker:

Saturday Night Concert
The Saturday night concert featuring the tutors together with a number of
special guests was a particular highlight of last year's event and will be
repeated this year. A special treat will be the appearance of those
legends of the flute and fiddle Roger Sherlock, and Josephine Keegan.
Josephine, who will be launching her new CD at Ceol Chairlinn and will
be accompanied by pianist Kathleen Gavin.
A further highlight of the Saturday night concert will be the return of the
excellent Scoil Rince Ard-Rialla led by the incomparable Fiona Harold. |

Generous
Support
Ceol Chairlinn has received funding support from the Arts Council, Fáilte
Ireland, Louth County Council Arts Service, Louth Hospitality and
Carlingford/Tourist Association Ltd, Local businesses including: the
Milestone Bar, Murphy's B&B and PJ O'Hares who have provided much needed
sponsorship support. An innovative initiative of this years event will
see students from the Music School of DKIT |

Tuition tickets are priced at a very reasonable
€50/€45
(concessions). A family ticket of €90 for two or more siblings
provides excellent value. Tuition tickets include free entry into the
Saturday night concert. Tickets for the concert only cost €10/€8
